The Grok AI chatbot, created by Elon Musk’s startup xAI, has surpassed its competitor ChatGPT in terms of availability to users around the world. Using Grok on Platform X is now much cheaper than paying for a monthly subscription to ChatGPT-4.

This was revealed in a recent post by a representative of the DOGE development team on the X platform. According to the tweet, Grok is now available to all X Premium users. With the monthly cost of this subscription, Grok comes at no extra charge. Premium usage and Grok cost $8 per month, while a monthly subscription to ChatGPT-4 is $20.

Thus, Elon Musk’s Grok is now 60% cheaper than its competitor from OpenAI. In a recent tweet, Elon Musk also announced that a new “crazy” news mode for Grok will be released soon on Platform X. It will summarize all hot topics and news for premium users.

In early March, Elon Musk filed a lawsuit against OpenAI and its CEO Sam Altman.

“OpenAI actually became a subsidiary of the largest technology corporation in the world — Microsoft. Under new management, it is not just developing but improving artificial general intelligence (AGI) for commercial purposes instead of concern for the good of humanity,” the lawsuit states.

Musk is seeking an injunction against OpenAI, Sam Altman and company co-founder Greg Brockman from profiting from ChatGPT-4. The lawsuit notes that previous iterations of this product were available as open source. According to Musk, the decision to abandon this approach was dictated by commercial goals, and not concern for the good of society.
