Google is changing the rules for logging in to devices and email. If now it is possible to do it only with one password, since next Tuesday, November 9, users will have to undergo two-step authentication (2FA) for each entrance to Google-accounts — to enter also a one-time code received to another e-mail box or a cell phone number. About that informs Gizmochina.

That is, the user will need to receive an SMS or e-mail with a one-time password, which serves as an additional measure to confirm their identity.

Two-factor authentication for Google accounts will become mandatory and it will be impossible to disable.

Messages have already been sent to users, asking them to keep their phone handy when logging in.

According to Google, the additional verification increases the security of accounts and personal data of their owners. A more complex login should also solve the problem of stolen passwords.

While two-factor authentication is installed far from all owners of Google accounts. After the implementation of the new security system, login to the account will be two-factor at least 150 million users.
