In August 2021, Nikkei Asia published a report stating that Google had accelerated the deployment of its own chip manufacturing facilities and that its next series of Chromebook laptops would already be equipped with the company’s own processors.

The American tech giant will use its microprocessors not only in Chromebooks, but also in tablets running the Chrome operating system. It is also reported that Google’s own chips will appear on the market in early 2023. The company currently uses Intel and AMD processors for its Chromebooks.

The new chips will be based on designs by Arm, a British microprocessor maker owned by SoftBank. Its development to date is used in 90% of the world’s manufactured smartphones.

Recall that in early August, representatives of Google said that the company has begun to create its own processor for smartphones. The chip is called Google Tensor. It will equip a line of new devices Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, which will go on sale later this fall.

The American IT giant Google is preparing to invest 1 billion euros in the German economy.

The company is interested in building new infrastructure facilities for its cloud services, as well as expanding cooperation with producers of “green” energy. A division of the Alphabet holding company has already signed a contract with Engie, a German supplier of clean energy.
