Raspberry yesterday unveiled the successor to the Raspberry Pi Zero single-board computer. It is called the new Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W. It is equipped with a system on the Broadcom BCM2710A1 crystal, which allows you to provide five times faster operation compared to the previous version. It also comes with 512 MB of LPDDR2 RAM.

It will be recalled that the original Raspberry Pi Zero debuted in 2015 at a price of only 5 US dollars. In 2017, its capabilities were updated via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. This updated version was released under the name Raspberry Pi Zero W for $ 10.

The Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W retains the physical size and shape of the original Raspberry Pi Zero (65 x 30 mm). However, it contains three additional cores. In addition, the board has a quad-core 64-bit processor with ARM Cortex-A53 cores clocked at up to 1 Hz. The most notable feature of the board is the Raspberry Pi RP3A0 platform, which combines Broadcom SnK and RAM.

As for the connection, the board has USB 2.0 with OTG, several Micro-USB ports for power and one Mini HDMI port. This PC also supports Bluetooth 4.2 and Wi-Fi 4 (IEEE 802.11 b / g / n) at 2.4 Hz. There is also support for H.264 encoding (1080p), MPEG-4 decoding (1080p) and OpenGL ES 1.1, 2.0. H.264. The Raspberry Pi Zero 2 W also has a CSI-2 camera connector.

The computer is available in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, and the European Union for $ 15 (approximately $ 395).
