Updated Facetime and Notification Sorting: Apple Unveiled the New Operating System, iOS 15
Apple announced the release of the new iOS 15 operating system at its annual WWDC 2021 developer conference, reports. Among the major updates:
FaceTime will get a SharePlay feature. It will allow users to watch videos, listen to music and share screen images together, including watching Twitch, TikTok, Disney + and other partner services.
Apple will add the ability to create links to connect to the call in a Web browser and allow you to add them to your calendar.
FaceTime will also include:
- Support for Spatial audio.
- CrystalClear noise reduction mode.
- A “portrait mode” that will automatically blur the background.
iMessage: Apple will add support for sharing from Apple services and collages and “stacks” of photos.
Alerts
If there are too many messages, the system will automatically group them into Summary: they will be sorted by priority — for example, messages from friends will be closer to the top.
iOS 15 allows you to set up focus, that is, filtering of incoming messages so that the user can focus on current affairs and get only the information they need at the moment. Non-urgent messages are collected in a separate pile and reflected at specific times.
When the user turns off messages, contacts in iMessage will see “do not disturb” mode activated.
The user can choose from which contacts or apps to receive messages: for this, you can select Focus mode — “work”, “personal”, “leisure”. The function is activated on all user devices at the same time.
Photos & Camera
The cameras on devices with iOS 15 will recognize text from photos and copy it, for example, to enter the Wi-Fi password. Spotlight will search photos by location, people, landscapes and objects.
Memories in Photos will be able to add music from Apple Music and share with other users.
Other updates
Wallet will get support for other documents, like a driver’s license. For now, only in the U.S.
Weather update: It now has a full-screen display of the precipitation map, air quality, and other information.
Maps update: more details about buildings in some cities, updated night mode, more details in driving mode, public transportation schedules, and so on.
There will also be a voice search in Safari.
The Locator service will also get the ability to search for disconnected devices and devices with wiped data. In addition, message Separation Alerts alert you to the loss of an AirTag, Apple device or accessory that is part of the service “Locator” network. In particular, through the service, you can find lost headphones AirPods Pro or AirPods Max.
The beta version of iOS 15 will be available to users in July.
A free update will be available in the fall for iPhone 6s and new models.
