Zuckerberg confirmed the launch of new audio services on Facebook — an analogue of Clubhouse, podcast platform and more
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg confirmed plans to launch new audio products on the platform. The company wants to add Soundbites, an analogue of Clubhouse, and a platform for podcasts to its audio publishing service. The developer said this in a conversation with freelance journalist Casey Newton.
New services on Facebook:
- Soundbites Audio Clips. The tool will allow you to record short audio clips and share them on your wall. The service is scheduled to begin testing in the next month;
- Podcast platform. The social network plans to launch its own service with podcasts. It will be possible to listen to them not only while using the service, but also in the background mode. The launch will take place in the next few months;
- Clubhouse analog. The developers are still developing audio rooms for communication. They plan to launch by the summer of 2021. At first, they will be available exclusively in communities, and later in the messenger;
Representatives of the social network also specified that they develop the whole list of tools for work with audio. For example, they will allow to impose a background music, to mix tracks, add different effects and much more. Also, the social network plans to add monetization, which will allow you to support your favorite authors.
